ADULT CLASSES
Ballet Int/Adv
Date/Time: Saturdays 9:00am to 10:30am, starting September 12, 2009
Class Details: Mark Foehringer's Intermediate and Advanced ballet class designed for adult dancers and develops strengthen, stamina, proper alignment and musicality while focusing on the teachings of classical ballet.
Faculty: Mark Foehringer is founder and artistic director of Mark Foehringer Dance Project|SF a contemporary dance organization based in San Francisco. He is a Fulbright Scholar in Dance and held the position of artistic director and resident choreography of Western Ballet for 10 years. Internationally, he has taught at Rambert School of Contemporary Dance in London, Ballet Nacional del Peru and throughout Brazil. He is an artist in residence at San Francisco State University this fall. Since 2007, he serves as artistic director of Teen Dance Company of the Bay Area.
Contemporary Int/Adv
Date/Time: Tuesdays 8:00pm to 9:30pm, starting September 8, 2009
Class Details: Adult Intermediate and Advanced Contemporary. This hour and a half technique class is energetic, highly physical, and fuses various forms of modern and contemporary dance. This class is ideal for the intermediate/ advanced to professional dancer.
Faculty: Heather Cooper is on faculty at San Jose State Dance Program. She teaches contemporary dance at TDC, and is a member of sjDANCEco. She is also the former owner of Adage School of Performing Arts.
Tap
Date/Time: Thursdays 5:30pm to 7:00pm, starting September 10, 2009
(Depending on interest tap class could start @ 6pm)
Class Details: This class is designed for adults to teach rhythm, tap vocabulary and movement. Dancers will also be exploring improv and choreography. This class will be high energy and lots of FUN.
Faculty: Darlene Castro Easterling has been teaching adult tap for many years around the bay area. She is the former owner of Dance "n" Such, a dance and exercise studio of 20 years. Darlene is the Executive director and founder of TDC a non profit dance company for teenagers. She has instilled the passion for tap in many dancers over her career.
